WHAT IS GYMNASTICS ALL ABOUT?
Gymnastics is a sport which keeps your body fit by being strong and flexible. Gymnasts perform routines which are different movements that are put together. There are different styles of gymnastics such as artistic, rhythmic, aerobics, acrobatics, tumbling, trampolining, double mini tramp, team gym, disability gymnastics and gymnastics for all. Gymnasts use the floor and apparatus such as the vault beam, asymmetrical bars and trampoline. WHY DO PEOPLE LEARN GYMNASTICS?
WHERE CAN YOU LEARN TO DO GYMNASTICS?
The best place to learn to do gymnastics is at a gymnastics club. The club will have trained coaches and you will use the proper apparatus.
WHAT DO GYMNASTS WEAR?
Girl gymnasts wear a stretchy leotard with either long or short sleeves. Boys wear a sleeveless leotard with shorts. Long hair must be tied back.
CAN GYMNASTS MISS THE WARM UP?
Before using the apparatus all gymnasts must warm up their muscles. Warm ups stretch the muscles and joints which is important otherwise you may injure them. Warms up usually begin with running around the gym then completing a series of different stretches. This usually last between 10 and 30 minutes. After the warm up the fun begins when the gymnasts work on the apparatus and the floor.

The duration of all other classes will range from one hour to three hours. Class attendance will range from one day per week to four days per week depending on whether the gymnasts is at a recreational, county or regional grade level.
